If I was to buy a "Premium Domain" for $137 would the yearly fee drop to normal price the next year?
Would the yearly renewal fee be the same as all other .tv domains? Or being a premium would it stay higher? Could some one explain how this works please.
That’s an interesting question….
I just tried to register a premium domain on godaddy and it SEEMS that the extra for the premium is a one time shot.
But can’t be sure, as it doesn’t let me register it for more than one year !!!
On the check out page there are two items :
1) the standard 1 year price, for 1 year only, marked "recurring", although I asked for 10 years….
2) the premium rate of x,xxxx dollars, which is not marked "recurring", but I wouldn’t trust them on this…..
Conclusion, try what I did with other registrars to see if they are more transparent on their pricing policy before to take any risk.
Note: why do you want to buy a "premium" domain ? Not only they are very overpriced, but if you want traffic on your NEW website, content and backlinks are far more important than the name itself to get good rankings. Also, try other extensions, anything else than a .com may reduce the value of the domain name itself, but won’t affect your ranking.
ok well the price that i just found for a .tv doamin is $39.99 a year and that would only increase if the total rates on domain registration increase from ICANN
