GoDaddy sucks. How do I sell my domain?
I have a domain on godaddy that someone’s interested in buying. I talked to godaddy and they want me to list it as a premium domain. I can do that, but they take 30% and I don’t want them to, basically. The buyer doesn’t want to just wire me the money and assume I’ll unlock it and let it go, so what are my options? Should transfer to another register and then list it? I have register.com account – do they take a lower commission?
Misc, that’s a good idea, but they want to go through a 3rd party. It’s a lot of money and we’re on opposite sides of the world.
Neither is my host. I talked to register and I can’t sell through them. I think I’m going to sell through a domain escrow service.
I have a domain on register.com and 2 domains on godaddy.com, 1 being the one I’m trying to sell. That’s not really relevant though.
find a sucker to buy it or wait until the time runs out
Change domain registration info to a random name and address.
Change password.
Send them login info after you receive money.
Then don’t worry about it.

GoDaddy is a web hoster and a registrar. Two different things. If I were you I will take my domain and go to another web hoster. GoDaddy scams not only its webmasters for example–you in this case who I assume have a valid idea for a website. But hosts and registers a lot of pornagraphic and scamming sites. For example http://www.nsameet.com is registered by GoDaddy. Just remember you own the domain name (www.youridea.com). Not GoDaddy. So you can take your domain to another hoster. I am a little confused though you mention register.com and godaddy. Which is your hoster and which is your registrar. A lot of companies do both like GoDaddy (host and register your domain name with ICANN). Like I said don’t have nothing to do with what i like to call them go^&#^&daddy. Some better webhosters/registrars include 1and1, network solutions. If you know how to do a whois search do I search on your domain see whois search below you’ll see it is registered with godaddy but hosted by jolthosting.net
If you have a public registration you’ll see your info where it says unknown. This happens to be a private registration.
I personally deal with 1and1
