Is it ethical godaddy.com & domain.com to hold your domain name ransome?
I’ve been opening business for clients 12 yrs+ & this has happened to me as well as numerous customers over the years. You goto godaddy or domain.com & check your domain name. You check a few domain names you want and figure there’s no way these unusual names will be taken by the time you go back to save them. 3 weeks later you come back and each one of those name are taken by different entities and will sell to you now at a much higher PREMIUM!!
NEWSFLASH!!…they are all taken by the same site you just went to prev but surreptitiously under a subsidiary/connected company to godaddy.com or domain.com!!
How ethical is this? Is this type of underhanded sales-sneakiness legal?
Greed is their priority, not people. I’ve no desire to use these websites because I’ve been warned about them that they do that before. You have to be careful.
Yahoo doesn’t seem to have these complaints so I go to their domain search. Link below:
That’s their business. When you find a name you want, buy it. Problem solved.

Three weeks ago, no one was interested in the doman names, and you could have gotten them cheap.
Now, someone has expressed interest in them…they have actually searched on the names, so the domain names are now more valuable.
Boils down to how bad you want the domain names.

one time search someone bought the names? That’s what domain. com & GoDaddy WANT you to believe..way too much of coincidence. Happened to me too with 4 different names I checked. And no one would want those names…Just a ripoff!! It isn’t ethical, just opportunistic. Unfortunately it’s legal.
Just don’t trust these greedy websites!!

It’s ethically wrong because people don’t consider how they can be taken advantage of in this way. Obviously a clandestine dirty business tactic which benefits them greatly.
