I was just wondering what in your opinion is the best website creator, and what is the best site to buy a domain name from. And is it easier to just get the domain and build the website from the same place? Plus i would like to know which has the best offers. I am creating a website for my business so i plan on paying the premium for everything. Take that into account, thank you guys for all your help!

You can join ur computer to a workgroup or a domain? what are these and whats the diffences? also, on windows 7 home premium, the domain option is greyed out so u can only choose to be on a workgroup…it says windows 7 home premium doesnt allow you to join a domain,..why? thanks for help

My websites domain is solvedit.webs.com but I want to change it to weeklybanana.webs.com . I have a free webs acount and I don;t want to upgrade to Enhanced or Premium. Thanks!

I don’t know webs that well, but typically how those things go, you would have to create a new account using the new name, recreating the site there, might take a different email or identity I don’t really know their terms. If you have search engine ranking bring you visitors, that would be pretty much lost with the name change, search engines would view it as a brand new site starting from scratch.

I just saw one of his sites, & there very good! He not only designs them, he is able to maintain and update the site ($15 fee). And he uses a site called squarespace and he writes CSS & HTML in addition to the features on squarespace. But he makes the logo and templates in photoshop. The squarespace site provides unlimited bandwidth & that’s why he uses it v.s go daddy.

They may get it up in 30-days, but it sounds more like use of an ecommerce template. The site has to be tested and all aspects need a run through to make sure your customers have no problems. Not always as quick as some people think unless shortcuts are taken.

Make sure you make a complete contract on what is paid when, who owns site when completed, completion date, etc.. There are several examples of web contracts on the Internet.

Bottom line, I think it’s overpriced if the portfolio does not contain actual sites that were made for customers. Anyone can make good mockups.

And how can I get the domain for much cheaper? I have a trademark registered as a mark with the USTPO, but I don’t have the dot com domain with the same name i have trademarked. How can i get this domain without paying the big bucks?
the mark was not USTPO, it was registered with the USPTO. someone else has the domain that i want that goes with the mark registered with the USTPO

ustpo.com is already registered and has been registered since 1999. If your trademark predates the registration, you could contest it claiming that it’s infringing on your trademark. Although having let it go for the past 12 years without doing anything about it could indicate that you haven’t been defending your trademark and thus make it unenforceable.

The options you have are to contact the current owners of ustpo.com and negotiate with them to buy the domain name from them or to use a different top-level-domain (e.g. .us .info .mobi, etc) or to do something like ustpo-for-you.com.

If you go the buy the domain name route, the amount you would have to end up paying would be whatever amount the two of you end up negotiating.

I think your domain name should be as close as possible to the services/ products offered. You know exactly what you will offer so build a name accordingly.

I was just reading these two lists of big money domain name sales and it got me thinking, are all the high value .com’s all gone now or not.
I’m sure all the one word .com domains from the English dictionary are gone but do you think there’s still some high valued two word domains to find? (I think these are called premium domains)

The only actual list is contained on DNS servers, and it would take you forever to read one if you could get it. You’ll basically have to try the ones you think of and see if they’re taken.
