i used above for public display work with efl students/interest – and private for my own access of files, not always being part of business intranet for sharing with colleagues etc. do i have to get a domain and which is recommended – without ten e-mail addresses for password storage etc ;-(

On Windows XP when I am connection to dialup internet, if any error occured, Windows notifies it with description such as:
"Error 691: Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain";
But on Windows Vista Home Premium & Ultimate Don’t shows any description about occured error, Vista just notifies "an error occured".
There is any solution to show error description or error code when connecting to internet fails also on Vista.
Does it have a details or more option when it shows the error? try to click there if it has this option.
Internet Explorer is unable to connect by using domains or IP’s MSN messenger connects fine and am able to ping websites with replies
This is not my own computer and am trying to figure this out for a friend and have brought it home and have the same problems with it here, my internet cannot be the problem as I and the rest of my family is connect fine
It was working fine and then just suddenly stopped

So far I have tried Disabling Windows Firewall, Disabling QoS and IPv6, manually setting the IPv4 settings, and closing all process and services possible apart from the main windows ones with no results
Installed Firefox with no effect currently trying system restore. Anything else I should try if that doesn’t work?
If it came bundled with a firewall/anti-virus software then disable it all. My Vista PC came with McAfee and I got the same problem. I disabled it and everything was fine again. I could even re-enable McAfee after I got my connection back.

Domain choices have no numbers in them
Domains are short like sites.net and preferably no misspellings
Premium domains acceptable like say max.net or site.net not a random character string with worthless letters like zxq.com
