And how can I get the domain for much cheaper? I have a trademark registered as a mark with the USTPO, but I don’t have the dot com domain with the same name i have trademarked. How can i get this domain without paying the big bucks?
the mark was not USTPO, it was registered with the USPTO. someone else has the domain that i want that goes with the mark registered with the USTPO

ustpo.com is already registered and has been registered since 1999. If your trademark predates the registration, you could contest it claiming that it’s infringing on your trademark. Although having let it go for the past 12 years without doing anything about it could indicate that you haven’t been defending your trademark and thus make it unenforceable.

The options you have are to contact the current owners of ustpo.com and negotiate with them to buy the domain name from them or to use a different top-level-domain (e.g. .us .info .mobi, etc) or to do something like ustpo-for-you.com.

If you go the buy the domain name route, the amount you would have to end up paying would be whatever amount the two of you end up negotiating.

I think your domain name should be as close as possible to the services/ products offered. You know exactly what you will offer so build a name accordingly.

I used their free trial a few months ago, didn’t develop site, trial expired; now I’d like to try again, but when filling out info it says domain name is taken (probably still ‘there’ from my first free trail); can I use the 30day free trial again with the same domain name, update to premium before 30 days end? Thanks!

I bought a .co domain name, HostHighway.co, a few months ago. HostHighway.com is a premium domain and at the moment costs $1,499. So, i was willing to know if someone could tell me my .co domain’s approximate value?
And, please don’t tell me answers from those online domain value finders. They do me no good.

Sorry, it’s not what you want to hear but it is not going to be worth very much at all, if anything. I’m guessing the online value checkers give you a similar answer.

A .com address is normally going to be worth a lot more than .co, if your domain had some page rank it would be worth more for that alone, but it doesn’t.

If the .com was not for sale and instead a well known established site then the .co might be worth something. Host Highway is not a phrase that gets any searches and so will not be worth anything as an exact match domain either.

I remember up until a couple of years ago, you could punch in just about any idea of a domain name (.com, net, org, etc) and if it was available, it was yours for 35$. All of a sudden, if a name that was easy and catchy was miraculously unreserved, the domain registrars decided to attach a premium fee to it, calling it a "premium domain name". I’ve seen them as high as 4000$ to register them. I have yet to get the answer to, since when did THEY decide they’ll take these available names hostage and profit largely from them when nobody owns them?
looking for ideas to find an answer to that and if it is in fact lawful.

Domain brokers are crooked and their tactics are unethical. As far as legal goes, I think it depends on which company they are in. I was told that in the USA that there is a law called "Domain High-jacking" which is illegal, however what would it cost to hire a law firm to fight this?

I have seen these companies hijack someones personal name and will "sell" it to anyone with that name for hundreds of dollars. Personally, I would like to see these crooks go down. //#

Isn’t it more like renting one? And if we’re just renting them, how come premium domains cost so much more to register? Sure, they’re popular or whatever but it’s not fair if I don’t really own it.
