This must be a really stupid question (regardling webs.com)?

But I need to know, nevertheless. If I buy a domain name via webs.com for about 20$, can I continue using webs’ site tools and continue being hosted by them? How does it work? Coz the premium offer (upto 249$ a year) state many features which include webspace, bandwidth, email etc etc.

So does that mean buying a domain name only gets me the .com name, while the rest features are similar to a free user?

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but it doesn’t specify details anywhere and I need to know before I make an investment decision.
Thanks

Yes. But $20 is rather expensive for a domain name. You can buy one yourself for $10 or less. Check out http://buywebspacetoday.com/how-to-buy-a-web-domain/

Based on what you said, it seems like a yes. The domain name will just be a nice unique name that directs visitors to your old webs.com account. You ought to contact webs.com support and ask them to make sure.

I strongly suggest that you invest in a paid web host. These days web hosting can go as low as $3 a month, which is not only very cheap, but also saves you a lot of the headaches you’ll get with free (limited disk space and bandwidth, static-only sites, advertisements, limited technical support, etc.). 1. You are correct. If you buy the domain and nothing else, you will stay on the free webs package. Might be worth going for the enhanced webs package…or another host all together.
