Sky Business News Interview with Jason Van Peelen, Pets Domain, 11 January 2010
This is an interview with Jason Van Peelen, Managing Director of Pets Domain. He discusses pets, saying the average spent on a pet has increased, as they are treated more and more like a family member. He then discusses how Pets Domain started, saying he began breeding and selling fish under the house to customers, who gradually wanted more equipment that came with them. He discusses the fact that Pets Domain currently has 17 stores, and recently a decision was made to create additional share holders so that other people can buy shares in the company. He says that pets are being fed premium brand food more often these days, as opposed to the budget brand foods that are on the market. Mr Van Peelen concludes by saying that in theory it shouldn’t be particularly difficult for the company to expand to New Zealand, although for the present, Pets Domain will be opening in Sydney.
